Country in the Park is only one week away! This year’s event is set for Saturday, May 12, from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the amphitheater in the master plan’s Exploration Park, located at 9700 So. Buffalo Drive. Country in the Park will bring award-winning singer/songwriter Phil Vassar, up-and-comer Jana Kramer also of “One Tree Hill” and “Friday Night Lights” fame, and local’s favorite the Tony Marques Band to Mountain’s Edge.
Presented by Mountain’s Edge master planned community and Vegas Country 95.5 KWNR, the free event includes a beer garden, food vendors, and booths and exhibits. Attendees are invited to bring picnic baskets, blankets and chairs and enjoy the entire day at Exploration Park.
Attendees are encouraged to donate to or bring new and gently used books forSpread the Word Nevada. PODS of LAS VEGAS, which provides moving and storage solutions with portable storage containers, will be collecting books for the nonprofit organization at its PODS® CONTAINER booth during the event. Spread the Word Nevada promotes literacy to make it possible for all children in Nevada to experience the magic of books.
Country in the Park will also feature food and beverages, including: roasted corn, chicken, chicken fingers, ribbon fries, barbeque pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, lemonade, soda, water and ice tea from Smoken Sams; barbecue pulled pork, jumbo hot dogs, hot links, baked beans, cole slaw, frozen yogurt, churros, water soda lemonade and ice tea from GCA/Lucky Strike Entertainment; funnel cakes from Funnel Cake Café; shaved ice from Chilled Out Shaved Ice; and beer and water from Nevada Beverage.
