Simple ways to add elements of the New Southwest to your décor!

August 20th, 2012

Mountain’s Edge is a community that celebrates our area’s great history and desert landscape. We hope you have incorporated native plants and designs into your yards using our “Legendary Landscapes” guide. Today, we wanted to explore ways that you can bring a touch of southwest style inside your home with ideas we found on Pinterest!

Textiles

A great way to add texture and color to your home is through rugs, throws, pillows and curtains. Spice up your living space with iconic geometric patterns and bright colors that are true to a southwestern style.

Iron Accents

A easy way to add Southwestern flavor is with rustic, dark iron fixtures and railings. Whether it’s a beautiful chandelier or a winding staircase, the stark contrast of iron against clean white walls is a classic look that originated in our region.

Check your Closet

An old pair of cowboy boots or a large turquoise broach can become a lovely accent for a room. Try using forgotten items in your closet to bring that Southwest inspiration to any room. Check keepsake boxes for souvenirs you may have collected from traveling in our area as well!
